Fundraise for the mountains
Fundraising is a great way to help Mend Our Mountains, as we attempt to repair and restore some of Britain’s most beautiful and valued landscapes.
It’s your chance to get out in the hills (or stay in) and have fun while doing some good.

Struggling for ideas?
The fundraising pack has plenty of great ideas, and some examples of people who are putting them into action to help the mountains, but just in case you’re still not sure, we’ve put a few more together below.
- Do a fun challenge event. Run 5k, swim in open water, bike or walk – pick something that will be fun and challenging and persuade your friends to chip in! MOM Coordinator Inigo is going to do a triathlon in Keswick in June, mainly ‘cos he hates swimming.
- Get baking! During the BMC’s ‘Horseshoe Heroes’ campaign last year, one volunteer ran a bake sale and donated the money, proving that there’s plenty of ways other than getting active to help heal the hills.
- Give something up. A tried and tested fundraising classic, with the potential to inspire plenty of support from surprised friends and family. Just don’t give up hill-walking!
- Run a raffle. Got some unwanted gifts or know some local businesses who might give you free stuff? Run a raffle – simply charge for tickets, and the people with the numbers chosen at the end get a prize. Or you could go one better and organise a whole MOM-themed event.
Can’t see anything on there that piques your interest? Got an idea but not sure how to put it into practice? Drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll guide you through the whole process.
